The fall planting season is right around the corner, so now is the perfect time to learn how to utilize your ground cover plants to solve the problems that are in your garden. You can use hedges to define property lines and add create beauty to your landscaping project.

If you want to plant in November, you can just be sure you do this before the first frost penetrates the soil. You also need to choose plants that are designated for your region's climate. Strong smells such as garlic, baby powder, chili power, or rotten eggs all interfere with the wildlife's ability to smell the plants that they like to eat.

You can check with local gardening businesses or the weather channel. By checking the seed packets you can determine how long the seeds must germinate before transplanting. The amount of time between when it has transplanted and when it will harvest. The best thing for drainage is plain, old, infertile sand. A house, a row of trees, a fence can all affect microclimates.
